Hello!!!

As the summer is coming to a close *sigh* and I am getting ready for school, I am already missing that summertime MuSiC FeStIvAl mood. The tunes, the vibes, the food, and of course the amaaazing style. I (kinda) recently went to Panorama Music Festival with my BFF Julia. We are lovers of all things music festival-y, so going together was a must. As seasoned panorama-goers, we were pumped to go back – with a bit more chill. I love how panorama can either be an “on your feet all day” event to some, or to others, simply attending to take in the sounds and sights from laying on the grass with friends.

I started the day off with a delish & fancy oat-milk latte, and it ended with a biiiit of a downpour (hence alarming clouds pictured above). But all in all, was a fantastic day.

For my outfit, I decided to go for an edgy look with an added boho ~flare (literally). This tube top from LF is unlike anything I’ve seen before, paired with my go-to flared cropped jeans by Flying Monkey for a realistic, but stylish festival look. Topped it off with some black cat eye sunglasses, and I was ready for the day. Totally would have thought jeans would be a no-go ALWAYS (i.e. outside all day. summer. hot. gross.), but the cropped flare and overcast made them perfect.

Hello!

Hope everyone is doing great:) Today I wanted to share some of my main essentials for this season! I recently picked up some things that will definitely be some of my go-to pieces for putting together most outfits.  My first summer must-have would definitely have be comfy tee’s.  I live in big t-shirts all year long, whether layered under a sweater, or with a pair of shorts.  Above, are two of my favorite trends this summer – tie-die and ripped-up tees.  The colorful tie die is great for summer and I’m definitely planning to incorporate these bright colors into my wardrobe!  The distressed tees are also pretty cool; i’m excited to experiment with different outfit looks! I’m also really into patterned denim shorts. These ones are from Spikes and Seams and i’m kinda in love… The plaid print is so different from anything i’ve seen, so I definitely had to try them out!

For accessories, my go-to sunnies have to be my Ray-Ban aviators.  I have had these for 2 years, and i’m pretty sure they won’t ever go out of style!  I’m also loving cross-body bags, especially this one by Street Level which I will be carrying around all summer.  For shoes, I recently purchased these awesome slip on loafers/sneakers.  I’ve seen this style everywhere in different colors, textures and patterns.  I think they’re completely cool and can’t wait to get more wears out of them!

Hope this inspires you!

xx

Hello everyone!

Summer is finally here and I am definitely ready to pull out my summer wardrobe and pack up the sweaters. For today’s outfit I kept it pretty casual, adding a pattered blouse and some staple accessories. I’m really into the peasant-inspired look this summer. Its feminine, flirty, and casual, yet being stylish 🙂 This one I’m wearing today is definitely my favorite, and I’m especially loving how light and flowy it is for the warmer weather. The blouse has simple tassels that tie at the top, which adds a cute detail to the busy floral/paisley pattern. To keep the bottoms casual, I grabbed a pair of trusty light-wash shorts. You can’t go wrong with a pair of denim cut-offs in the summer! They are definitely a staple in my wardrobe. For my accessories, I added these adorable vintage circle-shaped glasses, which are currently my go-to pair right now. They are honestly my shortcut to instantly spice up any outfit. I also added some of my staple jewelry pieces, including my two favorite gold necklaces, along with my silver ring with a turquoise stone. To finish the look off, I slipped on these camel colored sandals which added a nice “boho” touch to the outfit. They don’t have too much going on, so they ended up matching perfectly with the look.

Before I go, I wanted to share with you an cool new project I’m delighted to be involved with! An awesome site, called Raise.com has created a campaign called “Closet Swap,” showcasing different upcoming summer looks and trends. Raise.com is a marketplace where you are able to turn unused gift cards into cash! You can shop for discounted gift cards ranging from Forever 21 to Kohl’s. Its completely awesome and will definitely come in handy – you won’t have to worry about those gift cards you have no idea what to do with! I definitely recommend checking it out.

Hope this warm weather look inspired you! xx

Signature Salad

Hello everyone!

For today’s post, I thought I would switch it up with showing you how I make my Signature Salad!  Summer is coming, so i’m all about fresh ingredients and light flavors. This salad is very easy to make, yet so so yummy! Its very customizable to whatever you like, so definitely change it up! 🙂

P.S. – I’ve really been into taking pictures of yummy foods… (aka – my instagram ‘@thefashionbooster‘), so this post definitely showcases that obsession.

Step 1:

IMG_0527

Pick your lettuce of choice, and take about 3-4 leaves (depending on size) – Rinse thoroughly with cold water and pat to dry.  It’s very important to wash your lettuce especially when its organic, you don’t want little creatures left on your leaves!

Cut your lettuce to the desired size, and place into a bowl.

Step 2:

salad10

This is the exciting part – choose your favorite toppings! If needed, dice them to your desired size. If your making a salad for yourself (like I am), make sure to only take as much as you will eat!

These ingredients are some of my favorite salad must-haves. If your not into these, definitely switch them up – the more toppings, the better!

**It’s important to have protein as one of your add-in’s, to keep you fuller throughout the day!**

Step 3:

yumm

Add all ingredients together, and toss with your desired dressing.

And voila! Your personal, simple and tasty lunch (or dinner) is complete!

Enjoy!

xx

A Day in NYC: The East Village

ps1foodie

Hello!

Hope everyone’s week is going great!

Yesterday, I spent the day walking around Manhattan, exploring many different and cool vintage/thrift shops. It was so fun rummaging through unique clothing items and accessories, with a story behind each piece. One of my favorite’s of the day was No Relation Vintage, a vintage store packed with reasonably priced, awesome pieces. It was a long day, but completely worth it! I was lucky to pick up many cool finds, especially these amazing vintage sunglasses.  On the topic of glasses, I came across this great, vintage eyewear boutique with the most welcoming staff.  Fabulous Fanny’s is filled with vintage cat-eye, oversized and circular glasses, which all caught my attention.  Be sure to ask to see the private collection in the back!  It’s safe to say that my next pair of frames will definitely be coming from them!  I also ate some pretty yummy foods, including this tasty spinach, pear and brie panini from The Crooked Tree.  To top a wonderful day off, a cone at the Big Gay Ice-Cream Shop hit the spot:) While walking around, I found this completely awesome graffiti wall, so obviously, pictures were a must. I kept the outfit pretty casual and comfortable, so I played up the basics with some accessories, including my silver rings, layered necklaces, and of course, a cool pair of sunnies.

What Do your Sunglasses Say About You?

Hope you enjoy this post! it was so much fun collaborating with this awesome site! xx

First impressions are often the ones that matter most. It’s one of the main reasons we dress a certain way: business for the office, feminine for a first date, sporty for game day. Just like clothes say something about our personality, so do sunglasses. Read on to find out what your favorite style of sunglasses say about you:

aviators

Aviators: If teardrop-shaped frames are your favorite, then you are leader. You are tough and you know what you want. You can make a career out of your personality type, such as joining the military or police forces. Or you can just go ahead and act like it.

flip ups

Flip-ups: You’re indecisive as can be if you can’t even decide if you should wear glasses or sunglasses! The good news is you might be onto something, like the comeback of a trend. Not everyone dares to wear something as bold as flip-ups.

oversized

Oversized: The sunglasses of the stars: you either are one, or want to be one. You may seem like a private person, but you’re really not afraid to be the center of attention. Chances are, you might just be lazy and want to hide your lack of makeup.

embellished

Anna dello Russo in embellished sunglasses

Embellished: You’re all about fashion and looking different. You don’t care about comfort as much as you do about trends, which can sometimes actually hurt your health. Step off of those stilettos once in a while, and watch the world from ground level.

 cat eye

Cat eye: You’re literally just like the sunglasses you wear: a cat. You might be nice and purr at times, but one may never know when you decide to bite. A well-known trend in the ’50s and ’60s, cat eye sunglasses are linked with dazzling vintage fashion, and were used to be a favorite of the legendary Audrey Hepburn. Recently, these sunglasses have been making a rebound in the form of stylish shades.

sports

Sports: You’re either an athlete, or just a practical kind of person. You want want you wear to be functional first of all, even if means giving up on style. You’re pragmatic, comfortable with who you are, and focused on what you need to do.

Fall Time!

Sweater: H&M
Denim Shorts: LF
Boots: Dr. Martens

So I wrote this post about a week ago on a chilly day, but never got to uploading it, so i’m going to now;)

With fall inching towards us and summer floating away, it was definitely time for me to open up my wardrobe to my sweater collection. Today i was looking for something that was airy and would keep me warm, but appropriate for summer. I chose this cream colored H&M sweater with holes near the shoulder area to add the fall inspired look to my outfit. I leaned towards a more grunge style by adding very distressed high waisted cutoffs, and my patent leather boots (Dr. Martens) which I am in love with!
