Signature Salad

Hello everyone!

For today’s post, I thought I would switch it up with showing you how I make my Signature Salad!  Summer is coming, so i’m all about fresh ingredients and light flavors. This salad is very easy to make, yet so so yummy! Its very customizable to whatever you like, so definitely change it up! 🙂

P.S. – I’ve really been into taking pictures of yummy foods… (aka – my instagram ‘@thefashionbooster‘), so this post definitely showcases that obsession.

Step 1:

Pick your lettuce of choice, and take about 3-4 leaves (depending on size) – Rinse thoroughly with cold water and pat to dry.  It’s very important to wash your lettuce especially when its organic, you don’t want little creatures left on your leaves!

Cut your lettuce to the desired size, and place into a bowl.

Step 2:

This is the exciting part – choose your favorite toppings! If needed, dice them to your desired size. If your making a salad for yourself (like I am), make sure to only take as much as you will eat!

These ingredients are some of my favorite salad must-haves. If your not into these, definitely switch them up – the more toppings, the better!

**It’s important to have protein as one of your add-in’s, to keep you fuller throughout the day!**

Step 3:

Add all ingredients together, and toss with your desired dressing.

And voila! Your personal, simple and tasty lunch (or dinner) is complete!

Enjoy!

A Day in NYC: The East Village

ps1foodie

Hello!

Hope everyone’s week is going great!

Yesterday, I spent the day walking around Manhattan, exploring many different and cool vintage/thrift shops. It was so fun rummaging through unique clothing items and accessories, with a story behind each piece. One of my favorite’s of the day was No Relation Vintage, a vintage store packed with reasonably priced, awesome pieces. It was a long day, but completely worth it! I was lucky to pick up many cool finds, especially these amazing vintage sunglasses.  On the topic of glasses, I came across this great, vintage eyewear boutique with the most welcoming staff.  Fabulous Fanny’s is filled with vintage cat-eye, oversized and circular glasses, which all caught my attention.  Be sure to ask to see the private collection in the back!  It’s safe to say that my next pair of frames will definitely be coming from them!  I also ate some pretty yummy foods, including this tasty spinach, pear and brie panini from The Crooked Tree.  To top a wonderful day off, a cone at the Big Gay Ice-Cream Shop hit the spot:) While walking around, I found this completely awesome graffiti wall, so obviously, pictures were a must. I kept the outfit pretty casual and comfortable, so I played up the basics with some accessories, including my silver rings, layered necklaces, and of course, a cool pair of sunnies.
