Ootd: The Peek-a-boo Collar.

blogpostpt3blogpostpt2blogpost

Since i’ve seen the trend of layering a sweater over collared shirts everywhere, I wanted to share how I style the look!  I felt the opportunity was perfect since the sweater was kind of itchy, so I desperately needed something under it.  It was possible to make my outfit more interesting, while making it more wearable.  When trying out this trend, I like to mix up the layers.  Anything with a collar like a chiffon blouse, or a “grungy” flannel would look awesome under a chunky sweater.  I either like to play up the under shirt and keep the sweater (or over shirt) solid, or the reverse which would be a solid under shirt and printed over lay.  For this outfit, I wanted to go for the more masculine shape.  I paired a long-line, rectangular army green sweater over my favorite (and worn out), washed out flannel.  This also adds more warmth since its getting progressively cooler and cooler.  To make the outfit appropriate for outside, I added my favorite, gray (charcoal) winter utility jacket.  This jacket is perfect for winter since it keeps me warm, while still being stylish;)  For the bottoms, I tried to keep it simple with my go to structured (but so comfortable) jeans. And for my shoes, I thought my Dr. Marten boots would be perfect, and would also add another masculine, “grunge” accent.  Hope this inspired you! xx

P.S. – Sorry for the weird background… Haha
